ABOUT ME:

My birth name is Scott Alan Wyzlic, I currently live in Ishpeming Michigan and go to school at Northern Michigan University. I am pursuing a major
in Computer Science, with a minor in Native American Studies which will hopefully get me a job when I graduate (I am not too keen on the job outlook in the
UP though). In addition to school I have something that resembles a life and it includes my wife Shawn Kathleen (Niin-ode'kwe, my heart woman), two felines
(Mr. Gimli Michael the first of Wyzlic and Legolas Andrew (wide-load)), nimbezhig (Sir Samwise Gamgee of Ishpeming North) and the Teal Lake Singers
(Title VII Michigan Indian Education Program youth drum) where I have been fortunate enough to be a lead singer and drum instructor.
I also am the drum keeper for the Negake-Stone family drum Niizh Miishikeag (two turtles). When I am not working at the Center for
Native American Studies, doing homework, or druming... I really don't have too much of a life after all. Enough said!

I am the son of Josephine (Vasquez) and Marvin Wyzlic. My sister Lisa, whom I don't get to see as often as I should lives in the D.C. area and works for the Association on American Indian Affairs AAIA.
I am the grandson of Margret Volf (Stone) who is one of the many children of Mary Negake and Neal Stone.

My name, Ossokeh (pronounced osso keyh, nasal sound "Tells a story with a whistle and drum"), comes from Ogama Nina (Uncle Bill "Little Bill" Stone). Outside of the translation there is more meaning, but that is a story for Ogama Nina to tell.

I served in the U.S. Navy from July 10, 1984 until November 19, 1986 when I was discharged due to spinal injuries. This is the "Fastest bag in the East" the USS Inchon. The boats logo is Never More Brightly, and is named for those brave men who fought at Inchon Korea...Those who lived as well as those who died.

This is a picture, one of a kind, that my wife bought me while in Las Vegas January 2003. The Artist name is Hiroshi Rodriguez the painting was done completely with cans of spray paint...and took only five minutes to create while my brother in law Brian and I watched. The quote of one of the onlookers was "Dude...its an Ndn".
