The Grand River Bands of Ottawa Indians Information Network arose out of a need to disseminate information with regard to the reaffirmation of the GRBOI federally recognized tribal entity. Since the end of the treaty making process in 1871 to today the Grand River Bands have existed, and since the Indian Reorganization act of 1934 have sought reaffirmation as a federally recognized entity. As Uncle Bill has put it, "this is the closest anyone has ever come [to reaffirmation]", so we have a responsibility to support GRBOI, Inc. in its efforts on behalf of all our people; however, as with any government system we as Citizens have the responsibility to hold our government accountable in its actions. GRBOI.com has been online as a service to our people since 2001 and looks forward to being here to serve the needs and fight for the rights of the Grand River Citizens as they arise.
